In this study, we measured static friction between plastic film and a steel roller to research the influence of the static electricity and humidity. Plastic film is used for electronic-luminescence displays, medical sensors and so on. In the future, those flexible devices will be made by the Roll-to-Roll-Printed-Electronics process. This process will enable it to be mass produced while cutting down costs. However, an ambient environment causes to change the friction condition and just then to induce defects on the plastic film at the transportation process. Therefore, we measured the static friction and researched the influence of the static electricity and humidity by using a pulley method. The experimental results showed static friction increased with decline the film thickness and humidity increased. These results suggest that, static electricity force and meniscus force have an effect on the film and roller, and adhered two faces.
