Abstract
An analytical model is proposed for the estimation of force which acts on Archimedes screw blade. The force is given by water flow and composed of some factors: gravity, static pressure, and resistances. Torque and power were calculated by the present model for different some slopes, and shown as the variations with respect to rotation number. These analytical estimations are compared with experimental results, then it is shown that the present method can well predict the power of spiral water turbine. And the increase in torque with the number of blade can also well be predicted.
