Abstract
In this study I focused on "the top inventor" whose name is most frequently described as inventor in the published patent applications from a corporation to analyze the performance of knowledge creation in biotech start-ups in Japan. It was found that the corporations in which a researcher from academia is the top inventor has the higher performance of knowledge creation than others.
