This paper aims to investigate the effects of a sound-driven disturbance on a round jet t issuing into a counter uniform flow. The disturbance was supplied by two woofers fixed on the side walls of the settling chamber of the wind tunnel. Experimental parameters are the velocity ratio Vr of the jet to the counterr flow and the Strouhal number of the jet excitation. Fluid dynamical features were examined using PIV with reespect to the mean and fluctuating velocity fields along the jet axis. Although the disturbance level at the nozzle eexit was high enough to affect the development of a conventional round jet in a quiescent fluid, no appreciable efffect was confirmed on that of the counter jet. Future works using a stronger level of disturbance are required.
