We developed mechanical load acting on the Plastic Ankle Foot Orthosis (PAFO) from the sole of the foot analyzing system during walking and standing up motion. Using this system, we compared kinetic load in standing up from toilet seat between hemiplegic patients (patients) and healthy volunteers (volunteers). As a result, there are some significant differences for standing up time, ground reaction force and calf load between patients and volunteers. The patient's standing up time is about 2 times larger than that of the volunteers, and ground reaction force is 0.7 times smaller than that of the volunteers. Also, the patient's calf load range is bigger than the volunteers, are about 1.75 times. In conclusion, significant differences became clear about standing up time and kinetic load range between patients and volunteers. Future research is needed analyzing calf load, the PAFO deformation volume and sensory evaluation relation.
