In this study, in order to investigate the damage by the sphere impact, a small sphere impact test was carried out using a short fiber reinforced composite material. Effect of the sphere diameter on residual strength of short fiber composite material was investigated. As the results of the impact test, when impact speed is low, the indentation is occurred on the specimen surface. As the impact speed increases, the indentation and radial cracks is formed on the specimen surface. As the results of the four point bending test, it was found that residual strength of short fiber composite material specimens are higher than the matrix only materials. The effect of short fiber composite material was clearly confirmed.
