Shiribeshi Expressway, the section from Yoichi IC to Otaru JCT, was opened to public in December 2018. Both Tenguyama and Tenjin Second Tunnel in this new section are longer than 2,500m, two-way traffic and facilities class A.
In addition, the environmental condition at Tenguyama and Tenjin Second Tunnel is same as that of tunnels in Doto Expressway, which are introduced MPVC. In this paper, the details of the introduction of MPVC in the tunnels of Shiribeshi are described, and the verification results of the effect of MPVC up to May are shown.
