Minimally invasive surgery has attracted attention as a surgical method for reducing the burden on the patient. The ultrasonic scalpel used in the operation can perform coagulation hemostasis and tissue incision in the affected area. In this research, we developed an opposite phase vibration type ultrasonic scalpel that can excite a combined vibration of longitudinal vibration and bending vibration in a commercially available ultrasonic scalpel. The heat generation performance and the coagulation performance were evaluated to compared by the opposite phase vibration type and the longitudinal type ultrasonic scalpel.
