Fruit farmers often have to keep their arms raised continuously while cultivating or harvesting fruits such as grapes. Therefore, devices for reducing their burdens are needed. In this paper, we present the development of a lock device attached to a mechanical arm support suit for holding their arms in a desired position. The mechanical arm support suit does not need a power supply because the lock device and the suit consist of only passive mechanical components such as springs. First, we introduce the features of the mechanical arm support suit. Secondly, we explain the structure and mechanism of the lock device. Thirdly, we show the developed lock device and the developed mechanical arm support suit. Finally, we describe the experiment conducted using the developed arm support suit to check whether the lock device achieves the necessary functions.
