In recent years, the importance of colonoscopy has increased. However, because of the flexible and complicated structure of the large intestine, the high skill of a doctor is required to insert an endoscope into the large intestine. In this research, we have developed an actuator that supports insertion by giving a propulsion function to the endoscope. In this report, we designed and manufactured a tubular actuator made of a highly flexible silicone rubber. The actuator realizes a propulsion function by applying positive and negative air pressures. A resin rod with a diameter of 10 mm, which was used as a dummy endoscope, equipped with the actuators moved at 14.6 mm/s on the floor.
