Endovascular treatment devices, such as coronary stents, are widely used. Stents are used to maintain blood flow by expanding the blood vessel from the inside. However, unless preparation devices such as balloons are used in advance to create cracks in the lesions such as calcification to expand, the stent cannot be expected to have a sufficient therapeutic effect. Likewise, excessive expansion can lead to vessel damage or perforation. In this study, we developed a three-dimensional strain measurement method with high spatial and temporal resolution using tomographic particle image velocimetry for a coronary artery model with a diameter of about 3 mm to obtain quantitative information that contributes to the development of safe endovascular treatment devices.
