Abstract

The National Institute of Technology, Akita College launched the Glocal Human Resources Development Group last October with the aim of producing human resources inside and outside the region who are able to contribute to the open innovation paradigm shift in the region in the Society 5.0 era by bringing together knowledge from inside and outside the school. Glocal human resources are those able to contribute to local communities and economies by using their global perspectives and experiences. Using seeds and funds of advanced and next-generation technologies possessed by companies throughout Japan, a virtuous systemic cycle of knowledge, human resources, and funds can be associated with "regional development". The balance between local areas and outside world can be expected to be maintained autonomously and sustainably.
