Abstract
The planetary gear mechanism is used as a transmission in many fields, because it is small and light weight in comparison with ordinary gear train and has large gear ratio. However, the planetary gear mechanism can not be driven when it have significant low efficiency. In this study, we investigated the Self-Locking in 2K-H type planetary gear mechanism with external gears using 7 test gear sets which teeth number is different. As the result, the occurrence condition of the Self-Locking which was obtained by the theoretical calculation agreed almost with experimental result.
