Abstract
This paper describes wear evaluation method of traction sheave that is based on new wear test method of sheave and wire rope. We developed a test mechanism that able to appear a wear in a short time about traction sheave used for the elevator's roll up mechanism, and studied the wear phenomenon. Wear of traction sheave is caused by Creep that is relative displacement of sheave and wire rope based on little change of tension value of wire rope when wire rope passed the sheave. And it is cleared that wear volume sudden increase when change of tension value of wire rope is bigger than the threshold, and the load of last step has an effect on wear volume.
