Abstract
The prototype of crossed axle type traction drive was developed by the authors and the efficiency of transmission was evaluated. To improve the efficiency, it is effective to use a loading cam, which gives the optimum loading force according to the loaded torque. The mechanism of it is analyzed and this paper shows how to design the loading cam. The relation between loading force and loaded torque in highest efficiency is obtained by the experiment. Then the loading cam, which realized this relation is designed and the performance is confirmed by the driving experiment.
