Parts supply system, a part of supply chain system, plays an important role to ensure that the materials are smoothly delivered to the manufacturers. The success of this system mostly relies on the cooperation and collaboration between suppliers and manufacturers. This paper proposes an open tender approach to enhance collaboration in parts supply system. This approach provides an equal opportunity to all candidate suppliers for sharing information, and promotes an open competition in the bidding exercise to choose an optimal supplier under an open environment. This study employs a bulletin board for sharing information between manufacturer and suppliers, and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique for evaluating the candidate suppliers and identifying an appropriate supplier in the bidding exercise. User interface plays an important role in these exercises to provide manufacturers with a simple and compact structure of interface for realizing a collaborative parts supply system.
