The power company of South Africa (ESKOM), is reporting on the construction cost of small modular HTGR (PBMR) indicating its total amount is about 70% of the same output of U.S conventional PWR. We carried out of preliminary economic evaluation, based on the design information of PBMR that is tentatively revealed. We estimated the cost for each facilities of PBMR, in the construction unit price and, facilities constitution proportion that is supposed from recent Japanese PWR. As the result, the construction unit price regarding the civil engineering, mechanical equipment, electricity facilities of PBMR, became about 220,000 (\/kWe) and was about \60,000 (22%) cheaper than the PWR.
