抄録
The present status of engineering ethics in materials science and engineering is reviewed. In the area related to materials, characteristics of the organizations of scientists and engineer are academic society rather than professional society. This probably affects the difficulty of enactment of ethical codes in the society. For the education of engineering ethics it is essential that the professional society need to be establish in materials community in Japan.
