Abstract
It seems to be important and efficient to monitor the flow inside a pipe, in order to analyze the flow condition and make higher controlled air-conditioners. Mixing the fluorescent material into the refrigerant has been used as the leak tester. We proposed an optical sensor system to monitor the flow condition by using the amount of scattered light and the fluorescent light from the fluorescent material changed by the flow condition. Since the scattered light is strongly influenced by the change of shape at the boundary between the liquid refrigerant and the vapor and the fluorescent light by the amount of fluorescent material, the change of both amounts of light inform us the change of flow condition. The design methodology of optical monitoring sensor was described by the experimental results
