Abstract
In the past decade, the manufacturing industries in Japan tend to move their bases for parts manufacturing to foreign countries such as East Asia. The reason is to obtain low manufacturing cost by low personal expenses. This trend of "Globalization" results that Japanese industries can not compete in global markets. To overcome such an international economical issue, the application of information technology is demanded in the field of design and manufacture as well. In this study, the collaboration software using "XVL" that compresses three-dimensional CAD model data was considered for easy transmission to remote places such as foreign countries. WEB based collaboration of design and manufacture has been conducted in this research, and is reported.
