After showing that v=-1 means a material of the kinematical internal constraint of "inshearability," we obtained the constitutive relations with the associated constraint conditions for such materials. To highlight characteristics of such materials, we took up the following two problems as examples: a pressurized hollow sphere and a cantilever subjected to a lateral load at its tip. For the both problems, we tried to obtain the solutions both by the limiting process v→-1 in the known ones and by using the derived constitutive relations. We found that the solutions derived by the two approaches for the former problem is identical. For the latter problem, however, the shear stresses acting on the crosssection diverge to infinity as v→-1, and no consistent solutions can be constructed by use of the new constitutive relations accompanied by the constraint conditions, at least by starting with the same assumptions as those by Timoshenko and Goodier.
