Combustion promotion of natural-gas lean mixture in a constant volume chamber was experimentally investigated by combustion analysis and high speed shadowgraphy. In this experiment, hydrogen was injected into natural-gas mixture and ignited at a certain time after injection. The results show that combustion efficiency of the mixture around lean limit is remarkably improved with adequate selection of ignition timing.
