Abstract

This paper discusses which is more adequately applicable to the problem of recycling, civil law or common law. The problem of lead free soldering is taken up for a case study. In this case, realizing the lead free soldering does not necessary mean the solution to the problem. Rather, new problems such as tin whisker are coming up which might endanger our safety more. As the technology is progressing so rapidly and the environmental problems are fundamentally related to the sense of value, it seems that common law approaches seem to be more adequate.
