This paper describes the evaluation of direct yaw moment control with electric vehicle. We have developed an electric vehicle that has independent wheel drive mechanism and two motors mounted on each left and right rear wheel. The output of each motor is independently controlled by state of vehicle, and the difference between left and right driving force yields yaw moment to the electric vehicle. Running test was carried out to evaluate the characteristic of the vehicle behavior in steady and transient state with generating yaw moment in the electric vehicle. It was confirmed that generated yaw moment changed the behavior of the vehicle in the steady state.
