抄録
The newly developed heat engine works by only heat energy of hot water (without any other energy). Recovery stress and strain of SMA, energy conversion efficiency and output power were measured experimentally for various heat cycles and initial tensility of the bias spring. Although, rather higher power and higher efficiency can be obtained by using the SMA tape under a proper cycle and a proper initial tensility, the SMA tape is found to be inferior in fatigue strength because of inequality temperature in heating/cooling.
