In this study, the mechanical properties and electrical resistance properties of Ti-Ni-Cu shape memory alloy (SMA) melt spun ribbon are investigated. Furthermore, the comparison of between properties of SMA ribbon and properties of SMA wire was carried out. The twinning stress of SMA ribbon is larger than that of SMA wire, and twin deformation of SMA ribbon is smaller than that of SMA wire. Besides, the SMA ribbon shows the recovery strain that is about the same as wire SMA wire. Moreover, the resistivity of SMA ribbon is larger than that of SMA wire, and the hysteresis of resistance-strain curve of SMA ribbon is smaller than that of SMA wire. These tendencies are considered to be due to the smaller grain size of SMA ribbon than that of SMA wire.
