Many software products such as BOM, production schedulers, MES and controllers in the market are available today. However, these products depend on some specific industries or software vendors. Integration of whole manufacturing system by integrating with these products is difficult and expensive. Meanwhile, IEC 62264-1 had been published as a referencing architecture for a guide line of integration of manufacturing systems. Therefore, a method of integration among software products on the market using XML technologies based on the IEC 62264-1 proposed from MESX joint project. Moreover, a coordination protocol among these products positioned on each level of the function hierarchy defined in the IEC 62264-1. A demonstration systems based on the research have been developed. This paper proposes the method for integrating between level 2 and level 3 in the IEC 62264-1, and reports the developed coordination protocol and the demonstration system.
