Abstract
Several machine tool vendors had developed maintenance support systems using the internet. However, the systems are dependent upon each particular machine tool vendor. Moreover, most systems merely monitor Open NC's console. Consequently, these maintenance systems cannot accommodate other resources such as materials, tools, and documents. Moreover, collaboration system for maintenance support is needed. For that reason, this study examines a portal collaboration type operation and maintenance support system. The system accommodates a controller's information along with other resources. So far, remote monitoring system for multi-vendor facility using standard technologies and document management system which collaborates with 3-D remote monitoring system had been developed as components of the system. This paper describes the system concept and development of a collaboration function for the portal collaboration type operation and maintenance support system as one system component.
