Run-out of hob arbor directly and grealty influences a gear accuracy which was cut by it. Hence it is very important for tightgening a hob arbor to reduce occurence of run-out. A new tightening method which can drastically reduce the run-out has been proposed in this study. To verify the usefulness of the proposed method a new tightening device was developed, and tightening experiments were performed using the developed device. The results showed that the run-out was reduced using the developed device drastically within about 5 μm.
