In order to relax the welding residual stress in a welding structure, the relaxation method utilizing vibrating force was examined. Vibration was added to a bead on specimen and a box structure specimen using a vibrator, and behavior of the residual stress was measured. Decrement of the welding residual stress was recognized in a bead on specimen in near the bead. The result of stress analysis revealed that the maximum stress of near the bead which resulted from the stress concentration with the stress amplitude and the residual stress was exceeded the yield strength of the material in near the bead. On the other hand, the relaxation of the residual stress did not occur because vibration force was small in the box structure specimen.
