Abstract
Simulation experiments in vitro related to a flow in the radial artery applied to a high external pressures locally by a cuff were performed. A thin-walled silicone rubber tube was placed on a protuberance and was applied an external pressure using a small size pneumatic cuff. The effect of local compression on a tube law and flow in the tube were investigated. As a result, a tube law changes at the positive transmural pressure region due to a bend of the tube. A clearance between a cuff and a protuberance affects a cuff pressure when a tube begins to open.
