A sheet-handling mechanism that can take in and discharge various-sized sheets has been developed. The mechanism has a simple structure consisting of a drum, a reel, and a tape between them. It takes in sheets by winding the tape and the sheets around the drum together, and it discharges sheets by rewinding the tape. A sheet-handing test was performed under various feed conditions and showed that sheet-handling mechanism can handle various-sized sheets.
