Recently the broadband networks have made remarkable progress and various interactive visual communication systems including video conferencing, video telephones and video networks for meetings are becoming increasingly popular. However unnatural eye contact in the display used by these communication systems has presented a barrier to natural conversation with mutual understanding between communicators. We verified the permissible possibility of realizing a feel of eye contact for natural conversation in the visual communication. This paper also describes experimental results on the permissible viewing angle for feeling of the eye contact and the influence of image of the resolution.
