A stack of sheets easily comes apart when ultrasonic vibration is applied gently to the top of a sheet stack. In this report, the possibility of applying ultrasonic vibration to high-speed sheet handling is verified. Feeding tests were conducted using a machine that had 15 instances of double feed out of 500 sheets on average. It was demonstrated experimentally that when ultrasonic vibration was applied there was no instance of double feed and standard deviation of pitch (= the distance of leading edges of sheets) became smaller.
