In this study, we have designed a voice coil motor (VCM) that is focused on increasing the productivity of VCM magnets. The proposed VCM consists of a round coil and a rectangular magnet. The rectangular magnet is easy to manufacture and has the smallest possible waste volume of any magnet in the manufacturing process. Another feature of the VCM design is small degradation from uniform rotational moment. We manufactured an actuator with the proposed VCM design and confirmed the validity of the design.
