SPR (Self Piecing Rivet) joint was applied for AM5O magnesium alloy sheet with thickness of 0.8 mm. Cracking easily occurred in a lower sheet during SPR joining process at R.T.. Fatigue crack initiated at the crack. Occurrence of the cracking was suppressed when SPR joint was carried out at 250℃. Fatigue strength of SPR joint joined at 250℃ was higher than that of SPR joint joined at R.T. . Adhesive aided SPRjoining has been also carried out as a practical solution of the cracking. Adhesive aided SPR joint showed higher fatigue strength compared to SPR joint joined at RT..
