LCA for automotive body in white (BIW) has been studied in the society of automotive engineers of Japan, and that results that it is effective both to reduce weight and to recycle materials for low environmental impact. Moreover, the rising trend of materials cost increases importance of resource circulation as the countermeasure. This study focuses on material circulation of steel sheets for BIW, and studied material flows and a change.of CO_2 emissions in substitution to electrical steels. It is shown that the flow is enoough, and CO_2 emissions reduces in Japan.
