Fitness-For-Service (FFS) assessment using finite element method (FEM) has the problem that yes-no decision varies by an evaluator. The problem is caused by degree of freedom in modeling for FEM. In this study, burst pressures were calculated by using FEM analysis of pipes with local metal loss in order to investigate the influence of thickness measurement interval on FFS assessment. And analyzed pressures were demonstrated by burst tests. The pipe specimen was thinned by corrosion under insulation in actual plant was used. Shape of pipe specimen was measured by profilometer and extracted at several types of interval. As a result, the analyzed pressures in various measurement intervals showed almost no difference.
