When two materials are bonded, free-edge stress singularity develops at the edge of interface. The order of singularity can be obtained as a root of the characteristic equation. It is known that the characteristic equation has a number of roots or complex root for a certain combination of material parameters or wedge angles of materials. In this study, stress distribution on the interface of the bonded dissimilar orthotropic materials is calculated by using the boundary element method under the condition where some singular terms exist or the condition where the oscillatory singularity develops. The order of stress singularities calculated from the stress distributions obtained by B.E.M. agreed well with one obtained by using the characteristic equation.
