Indentation method can measure the local stress-strain curve by dual indenter method, which uses two different trigonal pyramid indenters with non dimensional n functions. The scale effect of hardness occurs in the indentation tests when the penetration depth is small. This may also affect the dual indenter method and result in higher static strength. The present study aims to suggest a method to calculate stress-strain curve from the impressions. The calculated stress-strain curve from the measured length of the side of a triangular impression show good agreement with a little scale effect for high strength steel, SUJ2 and aluminum alloy, A2024-T3.
