Weight saving structures are recently demanded to reduce the energy consumption. Even for the automobile structures, Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) have been applied in these days. Hybrid car or Electrical Vehicle requires an electrical generator and an electrical condenser. Recently, the capacitors are tried to be integrated in composite structures such as carbon/epoxy laminates to save the weight and space: the structures are called CFRP structural capacitor, which has dielectric layer between CFRP laminates. Final goal of this study is to apply this structure into automotive outer panel made of CFRP. In order to keep capacitance and mechanical properties high, dielectric layer must be thin. But thin dielectric layer tends to cause continuity between CFRP electrodes.
