This paper reports the preliminarily experimental results of low velocity soft-body projectile made of gelatin solution impact test on a thin plate at impact speed of about 120 m/s. An experimental investigation of low velocity impact was performed by using a ballistic range at Institute of Fluid Science, Tohoku University. The process of impact and shock wave propagation phenomena was visualized by shadowgraph method and recorded by a high-speed video camera.
