In this study, electro-elasto-dynamic behavior in a functionally graded piezoelectric thin plate is discussed. It is then assumed that the top surface of the thin plate is fixed to a flat rigid body, while the bottom surface is subjected to unknown impact pressure and that a voltage induced between the top and bottom surfaces is known. In order to analyze the electro-elasto-dynamic problem mathematically, the variation of material properties is considered to be given as exponential functions. Applying transforms with respect to the space-variable as well as to the time-variable, an analytical solution is successfully obtained. Numerical calculations have been carried out when the material at the top surface of the thin plate is taken to be PZT-4. Finally, the time history of the dynamic stress is illustrated graphically.
