Abstract
It is difficult to get high accurate machined surface in case of milling deep cavity. This paper deals with high speed ball end milling with long overhang. The main results are as follows; (1) Roughness of finished surface is different depending on spindle speed. This difference is related to compliance of machine tool. (2) Roughness of finished surface is affected by surface roughness before finish machining. (3) Small roughness is obtained by using shrink fit holder which has more stiffness.
