Demand of machine tools fluctuates heavily so that a lot of uncertainty exists in making a production plan of machine tools. Therefore factory operates production based on a short or middle term production plan, which is revised in a short period. In revising production plan, delivery date is prioritized normally because the plan focuses on a short term. However, it might result in unexpected and undesirable situation, such as delivery delay in a long term, increase of working inventory and overtime working, lack of on the job training, and so on. In this study, we make a machine tool production model and investigate how decision making in a short term production plan affects a long term production result by the model.
