In this study, we suggest a microfluidic-based reflective display using dyed water as pixel elements. Feature of our microfluidic display is that no energy consumes during displaying images. Our display was made of a PDMS sheet with a connected pixel-pattern microchannel. Several types of dyed water and transparent oil were sequentially introduced in the microchannel with syringe pumps. We found that shape and size of the pixels are important parameters to send dyed water in the microchannel without loss. We believe that our microfluidic approach could pave the way to a low energy consuming, transparent, flexible and full-color reflective display.
