In this study, we propose a structural changeable pin as a fixation mechanism for a treatment patch of Myelomeningocele, which is a fetal stage disease. The mechanism that is easy to insert and hard to extract can be realized by changing the pin structure after inserting into the fetal body. In this paper, a large scale model was prototyped and the insertion and the extraction forces were compared with those of a normal pin. The insertion forces of the normal pin and the prototyped pin were 1.7 N and 3.0 N, respectively. The extraction forces of the normal pin and the structural changed pin were 1.5 N and 3.0 N, respectively. These results indicate that the mechanism that is hard to extract can be acquired by using the proposed method.
