The conventional remote monitoring system in general follows such a process of selecting sensors, transferring the mass data, and judging the data. However, it is difficult to apply this type of system to many structures, since it is expensive and lagging. In an effort to solve these problems, this study developed a seamlessly real network and designed a remote monitoring system with advanced functions. Their rationality and effectiveness are also studied. The controlling network technology based on Lon Works is adopted as the network of the system in this study. The main functions are networks that control the apparatus (a controller, a device, sensor level) connected to the network. There is an independent distribution controlling function for the network applied by the adoption of building automation. Results show that it is more advanced than the conventional monitoring systems. Compared with the conventional common monitoring systems, their merits and demerits are discussed. Moreover, one of systems was verified.
