Single crystal Ni-based superalloy blade is used in advanced gas-turbine systems to increase the machine's efficiency, because of its excellent high temperature creep/fatigue strength. To design, or to evaluate the blade part, stress analysis, in which the anisotropic property of single crystal is taken into consideration, is indispensable. As a preliminary structural investigation of the single crystal blade, the cubic anisotropic properties of representative single-crystal superalloys were collected. Stress originated from centrifugal loading was analyzed on several typical rotating parts: a solid disk, a disk having a small hole at center, a rotation ring, and finally, a 3D turbine blade. Characteristics of stress distribution within the parts are demonstrated.
