Plain fatigue and fretting fatigue tests were carried out using two types of shot-peened aluminum alloy JIS 6061-T6 specimens..One was normal shot-peening and another one was WPC treatment. Plain fatigue strengths of both the shot-peened specimen and unpeend specimen were almost same. It is considered that surface roughness became large by shot-peening. Fretting fatigue strength of shot-peened specimen was higher than that of unpeened and WPC specimen. The reason was mainly caused by high compression residual stress of shot-peened specimen.
